Away from central London, there are interesting areas to explore within Greater London.

Chingford began life as three hamlets in Essex and is now a London suburb on the London/Essex borders.


The Chingford Green conservation area includes a variety of interesting buildings showing Chingford’s development from a small rural community to a suburb of modern London.

Historic Chingford Treasure Hunt


This is your chance to explore an area of London, situated on the London/Essex borders, near Epping Forest.


You will also get the chance to unravel cryptic clues, photograph funny assignments and compete for nominal prizes.


Starting Chingford Station the hunt will end at a nearby pub for a drink, a chance to announce the scores and to laugh at each others photos.


Teams of 2 to 5 participants.

Bring a phone/digital camera to complete the photo challenges.

The Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge was built on the orders of Henry VIII in 1543 and contains exhibitions on Tudor history.


"The View" is a new visitor centre, with interactive displays telling the story of Epping Forest.


Chingford is also home to The Chingford Village Market (selected Saturdays) and Chingford Farmers Market (selected Saturdays)
